Upper Goose Pond Cabin Opening

The Upper Goose Pond Cabin will be opened for the season on Saturday, May 19th. Until the opening, hikers may use the open porch or tent platforms to camp as in the past. Hikers are advised to use the bear box to store their food as bears will be active soon. Starting on opening day, caretakers will be on duty at the cabin until cabin closing in mid-October. Intro to Backpacking/Cycle Touring March 3-4.

What do backpacking and cycle touring have in common? More than you think! Join us for an educational weekend exploring the ins and outs of both sports. Learn about trip planning, personal and group gear, food/nutrition, and Leave No Trace principles. Trips for both sports will occur throughout the spring, summer, and fall with registration preference given to series attendees. Program will be held at YMCA Camp Harrington, Boylston, MA.
