Chapter Business News

Two Fun and Easy Ways to Get Involved

Hello all Berkshire AMC members from the Publicity chair! I have a couple of relatively easy tasks for you, should you decide to take them on. For one thing, though I know there are over 2000 members of the Berkshire Chapter, only 41 of you have “liked” the chapter Facebook page. Perhaps many aren’t on Facebook - but if you are, please either search for Appalachian Mountain Club to find the Berkshire Chapter page, or click on the link from this website. Once you “like” the page, you’ll be notified about occasional events or last-minute trips, and will be able to post photos or comments about your AMC experiences.

Annual Berkshire Bash

The Berkshire Chapter AMC Annual Dinner will be held on Saturday November 6 beginning at 6 PM in the Hadley American Legion Hall, 162 Russell St., Hadley, MA. All Berkshire members are welcome and encouraged to attend. The agenda will include the election of officers, member recognition, wonderful food and a great keynote speaker. Please register via e-mail to Dave Sauriol at vicechair@amcberkshire.org so we know how much food to put on the stove. A nominal $10 fee will be collected at the door to help defray costs of the dinner. This year’s guest speaker will be Tina Clarke of the Transition Movement, who will discuss local sustainability efforts to address the triple threats of economic instability, climate change and escalating energy costs. Hope to see y’all there!
