Young Members (20s/30s) Leadership Training Weekend

Whether or not you have much experience yet with AMC, we’d like to invite you to the upcoming Young Members (20s/30s) Leadership Training Weekend at Cardigan Lodge in New Hampshire. Hosted by AMC staff and experienced volunteers, you’ll spend the weekend with other Young Members across AMC, from Maine to Virginia. “Classroom” time is spent at the hall and on the trail, and during evening socials you can sit with the group by the fire with a guitar or find an Adirondack chair with a view.

Dalton Celebrates Appalachian Trail Community Designation



Join Appalachian Trail hikers, outdoor enthusiasts, members of the community and government officials to celebrate Dalton’s Designation as an Appalachian Trail Community with morning hikes -- including a family friendly hike, an Appalachian Trail work project, followed by music, activities and a potluck lunch. Bring a dish to share.

Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) Maine 2017 Conference

Maine Trails view The ATC will hold its biennial conference August 4-11, 2017 at Colby College.

This event features more than 240 hikes, numerous workshops, and excursions to local areas of interest. Each evening offers exciting adventure presentations and stellar entertainment. The event draws people from around the world, but primarily from locations along the Appalachian Trail.

Summer is a Great Time to Get Outdoors

Check out AMC activities in Western Mass. This summer we are offering several series of hikes including the AT in Mass, Hiking Along Rivers, Easy Hikes in Northampton, and the weekly Tuesday hike. You can find both flat water and white water paddling events, bicycling, rock climbing, backpacking, and family programs. Don't miss out on these. Meet fellow hikers, learn about the Berkshire Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club and how to join us on the trail, or on paddling or mountaineering outings. The speaker will be Bess Dillman, longtime hike leader and nature lover, who will give a presentation with photos on Berkshire County trails—the many options: variety of terrains, habitats, special features, lengths and difficulties.
